The CNRS-L had the honor of welcoming the European Union Delegation to Lebanon, Mr. Cyril Dewaleyne, Deputy Head of Cooperation and Team Leader of Local Development, and Mrs. Léa Polony, Attaché for Agriculture and Food Security at the Mission. The visit began with a meeting with the Secretary-General of the Council, Dr. Chadi Abdallah, during which the delegation was briefed on the ongoing programs, implemented projects, and areas of cooperation. This was followed by a tour of the National Center for Natural Hazards and Early Warning (NCNE), where the research activities, ongoing projects, and key outcomes were presented, reflecting the continued commitment of the National Council for Scientific Research to supporting scientific progress and innovation in Lebanon. A part of the visit was also dedicated to presenting the war damage assessment following the ceasefire, highlighting the efforts accomplished using advanced methodologies based on Artificial Intelligence and specialized software tools.
